JISUN SHIN

일상 속 구체적인 장소, 혹은 사물의 이면을 읽어내는 작업을 다양한 매체를 통해 재 맥락화 해온 신지선 작가는  근대화라는 지역발전 계획 속에서 지속적인 변화를 거듭해온 원서동의 주거공간에 주목하면서 그 흔적을 작가적 상상력을 통하여 시각화하는 작업으로 보이고자 한다. 이번 전시는 이러한 축적된 자료를 통해 인사미술공간의 공간적 커뮤니티가 작가에 의해 재발견되고, 현재 역사의 한 단면을 추적해 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 한다.

This is the 4th solo exhibition project chosen from the contest as part of the 2009 Insa Art Space of the Arts Council Korea exhibition supporting service. Artist Jisun Shin has been forming the work of looking into the hidden side of specific spaces in daily life or objects into context through various media. As the residential area of Wonseo-dong went through continuous development following the local development plans of modernization, Jisun would like to present the traces through visualizing them with artistic imaginations.
This exihibition will rediscover the spatial community of Insa Artspace from these accumulated data, and provide an opportunity to trace one side of our history.
